When one of your pediatric patients has a fracture, refer them to the new Ahmanson Foundation Fracture Center at OIC for specialized care. Opened in 2020, our state-of-the-art Fracture Center is one of the largest pediatric orthopedic fracture centers in the nation with 14 exams rooms. Our team of pediatric orthopedic experts is renowned for providing highly specialized fracture care to children. This expertise leads to proper healing, which means kids can grow normally, without disruption.
With pediatric fractures, it’s important that children see the right specialist, right from the start. When parents take kids to emergency rooms designed for adults, there’s always the risk of incorrect diagnosis and treatment. One study of children treated for fractures at emergency rooms or non-specialty urgent care centers found that 93% of splints were placed improperly.1
Treatment delivered by a physician who is not an orthopedic specialist could result in problems for your patient, now and in the future, such as:
The staff at Ahmanson Foundation Fracture Center at OIC are specialists in pediatric orthopedic fractures, and have diagnosed and treated thousands of kids to prevent further issues as children grow. At OIC, we treat all types of pediatric fractures.

The care children receive at Ahmanson Foundation Fracture Center at OIC is second to none. Our specialists access the best in medical technology with the new Harbison Radiology department which features 3 state-of-the-art diagnostic X-ray machines and a portable X-ray machine.
Additionally, the new pediatric orthopaedic rehabilitation center at OIC includes a kids corner, creating an environment that motivates the youngest patients (ages 0-4) to move, develop coordination and grow. The center includes new equipment that strengthen a child’s extremities using eccentrically controlled movement, and a new Alter G machine first designed for NASA that enables gravity-eliminated walking and running activities to return patients to these activities earlier in their rehabilitation.
At OIC, we take a collaborative approach to diagnosing and treating fractures. Our team of experts is led by the following orthopedic specialists:
