OUR ALLIANCE WITH UCLA HEALTH

In 1998, two of the most prestigious medical institutions in Southern California, Luskin Orthopaedic Institute for Children and UCLA, forged a far-reaching alliance to broaden the scope of both organizations – bringing new and expanded programs for patient care, research and education in musculoskeletal disorders to LA and beyond.

While Santa Monica-UCLA Medical Center and LuskinOIC may be the most visible component of the alliance with UCLA, it has provided enhanced opportunities for research and education. Scientists and clinicians work together in close proximity, stimulating the cross-fertilization of theories, knowledge and experience that generates valuable new ideas and therapies, moving breakthroughs from bench to bedside quickly and safely.

The alliance between UCLA and LuskinOIC creates a platform for unparalleled contributions to patient care and scientific discovery in orthopaedic surgery and musculoskeletal medicine.

The Santa Monica-UCLA Medical Center and Orthopaedic Hospital, LuskinOIC on the downtown campus, the Orthopaedic Medical Center on the UCLA Westwood campus, and the Orthopaedic Hospital/UCLA Residency Program combined have the capacity to lead advancements in musculoskeletal patient care, research and education worldwide.

Ozzie: Breathing Life into LuskinOIC's Spirit!

Ozzie, the lively red dragon, is the official mascot of LuskinOIC, spreading joy since his birth on April 4, 2014. He visits patients weekly, offering a fun distraction and bringing positivity to their stay at our downtown and outpatient facilities. Ozzie's upbeat personality provides relief to children and parents, ensuring smiles during their time with us.

Catch Ozzie at special events in our Santa Monica location a few times a year.

Don't forget to say hi when your child visits LuskinOIC!

International Children’s Program

LuskinOIC founded the International Children’s Program (ICP) , 60 years ago, for one vital reason: to enable children living outside the U.S. to receive high-quality orthopaedic care, regardless of their family’s financial situation.
